When you are Searching For A Substance, most of the time you will be able to find the substances you need. However, there may come a time where you have done your best to find a substance, yet it doesn’t appear to be in the SDS library. If this is the case, you can upload an SDS if you have the document on your computer, or you can make a request to Sevron to obtain and add it on your behalf.
Please Note : If you need to update an SDS we already have, please send the update direct to support@sevron.co.uk and we will update the SDS for you.
In this latest core update, you can now upload an SDS file or document and the system’s AI scraper will aid you in the process. Simply follow steps below:
In the assessment dashboard, under the Substance Information tab, click the Add Substances button.
2. Type the name of the substance to search for it in the system’s database.
3. If the substance you are looking for cannot be located, you can create a request by clicking on the button below (“clicking here”):
4. Upload your SDS file by clicking Upload and Continue.
5. The system’s SDS scraper will pick up the data in your file and will auto populate the relevant fields. Once you’ve uploaded the SDS file, kindly wait for a few minutes for the system to read it.
6. As we are continuously improving the SDS scraper, we advise you to double-check and confirm any data extracted to ensure that all filled-out details are correct. You can do this by clicking on the small red file icon on the upper right corner of the form. This will display the SDS file that you uploaded, so you can confirm the necessary details.
7. If the information scraped by the system does not match the one on your SDS file, you have an option to manually enter the correct manufacturer, supplier, and substance details.
In case you do not have an SDS file or document to upload, you can still Search for a Substance by following the SDS Request process as explained below:
Select Manufacturer
The first step is to select the manufacturer of the substance you wish to add. Type in the name of the Manufacturer into the text box and click the Find button. Next, browse through the list of manufacturers in the results that have matched your search criteria. Then, click the Green + (plus) icon on its left. If the manufacturer isn’t I the list, you can also add a manufacturer via the message that appears below the Manufacturer search box.
2. Select Supplier
The next step is to select the supplier of the substance you wish to request. Just like the manufacturer step above, type in the name of the Supplier to search for it and click the Green + (plus) icon on its left. Again, an option will appear below to add your own supplier details if the supplier cannot be found.
Advice: If the Supplier details are the same as the Manufacturer details, simply add this same information again in the Select Supplier step to continue.
3. Substance Details
The third step is to add the information relating to the substance you wish to request. This information is as follows.
Substance Name
Product Code (optional)
Revision Date
Regulation
Language
Internal Code (optional)
Please ensure you add as much information as possible, checking you have made the correct language and regulation choice before continuing.
Please Note: Please be as accurate as possible with the information you provide when making SDS requests. The information you provide is the only information Sevron will have to obtain the SDS you need. Vague or missing data will only slow down the process of obtaining your SDS, and could result in the SDS not being added.
Please Be Aware: Due to occasional improvements and updates, the system may differ slightly from that shown above.
Please Be Aware: Backing out of the request process early will prevent the substance from being placed into your inventory.
When the request has been finished, Sevron will receive it, and they will approach the supplier (or manufacturer if this is the case) to obtain the SDS you need. When the SDS has been added to the SDS library, you will receive a system notification.
