Personalisation (Beta): make Safety365 work the way you do
Every Safety365 customer works differently. Some spend all day moving between sites and want location switching to be instant. Others live inside the Risk Assessment Wizard and want fewer clicks between steps. A few just want the buttons they use most to be somewhere they can't miss them. We built Safety365 to cover a huge range of workflows, which means the default layout is a compromise, and compromises rarely fit anyone perfectly.
That's why we've opened up Personalisation (Beta), a set of six optional layout toggles you'll find under My Details > Personalisation (Beta). Nothing changes unless you switch something on. Turn one on, try it for a week, turn it back off if it's not for you. Each toggle is independent, saves to your login, and follows you wherever you use Safety365, whether that's your desk or a tablet on site.
One thing worth knowing: these settings are tied to your login, not your device. If you share a login with a colleague, for example on a shared site tablet, switching a toggle on or off will change it for whoever's signed in next, not just you.
Show location tree in sidebar
This moves location picking into the left sidebar, so the full location tree sits alongside your work instead of behind a separate control you have to open every time. If you're constantly jumping between sites, buildings, or floors, having the tree visible while you work cuts out a lot of back-and-forth.
Show work areas in the top bar
Switch on the sidebar location tree first, and this option opens up. It adds Risk Assessments, Substances, Actions, and Incidents as shortcuts along the top bar, so moving between work areas doesn't mean returning to a menu each time. (This one depends on the sidebar location tree above, so switch that on first)
Use universal search
Adds a search icon to the navigation rail, letting you search for assessments, SDS, actions, locations, and references from wherever you happen to be in the app.
Show Create New in the top bar
Moves the "Create New" button up beside the logo and removes the duplicate Create New buttons from individual page headers, so there's one consistent place to start new work.
Use the scrolling assessment wizard
Instead of clicking through the Risk Assessment Wizard page by page, this shows every step on one continuously scrolling page, with a sticky step bar so you can jump straight to any section. Saves automatically as you go.
Use Actions buttons in tables
On supported tables, this replaces the three-dot kebab menu with a clearly labelled "Actions" button, no guesswork about where it went.
Try what works, skip what doesn't
This is a beta, and some of it will be a bit rough round the edges. None of it is mandatory or permanent, and turning one on doesn't commit you to the rest. Mix and match, or ignore the lot. If you do try any of these, we'd like to hear how it goes, you'll find the toggles under My Account > Personalisation (Beta).
