Searching and filtering the library by standard

How to find the right template in the library.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: All users.

The Audit Templates tab opens the Audit Library Search, a catalogue of ready-made audit templates. You can search it by keyword, narrow it down by regulation or standard, and add any template to your own list.

Open the library

Go to Audits and select the Audit Templates tab. The page shows:

  • Search box: at the top, labelled "Search Audit Template Library".

  • Results: a list of matching templates, with a count above them (for example, "11 results found").

  • Filter panel: on the left, the regulations and standards you can filter by.

Search by keyword

Type a word or phrase in the search box. The results update as you type.

Search looks at a template's name and its description. For example, searching "inventory" finds the COSHH Compliance Assessment because the word appears in its description.

To clear a search, delete the text from the box.

Filter by regulation or standard

The filter panel groups regulations and standards under four headings:

  • ISO Standards

  • Health & Safety

  • Environmental

  • Other

Tick a regulation to show only templates tagged with it. The number beside each one is how many library templates carry that tag. The numbers don't change as you search or filter.

You can tick several regulations at once. The library then shows templates tagged with any of them, not only templates tagged with all of them. For example, ticking ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management (3 templates) and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management (1 template) shows 4 results.

Some groups are longer than the space shown. Select Show More at the bottom of a group to see the rest. Use the arrow beside a group heading to collapse or expand it.

Search and filters work together. With a search term and a regulation ticked, you see only templates that match both.

Read a result

Each result card shows:

  • the template name

  • its audit type (for example, Site Inspection or Compliance Review)

  • the regulations or standards it is tagged with

  • the number of clauses in its checklist

  • a short description. Long descriptions are cut short with a See more link.

  • the template's Reference prefix, where it has one, and its Revision Date

Use a template

Select Actions on a result card:

  • View Audit Template: open the template to review its contents.

  • Add to My Audit Templates: add the template to your My Audit Templates list, so you can use it for your own audits.

More results than fit on one page

The library shows 10 templates per page. When there are more than 10 results, page numbers appear below the list. With a narrow search or filter you will usually see a single page and no page numbers.

Can't find what you need?

Above the filter panel, Click here opens the Audit Template Request form so you can ask the library team for a new template. View My Requests takes you to the My Template Requests tab to track requests you have already made.
