Archiving a template

How to retire a template you no longer use.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: Needs Manage My Audit Templates.

  1. Open Audits > My Audit Templates.

  2. Open the ⋮ menu on the template.

  3. Choose Archive.

The template moves to archived state and disappears from the table unless Show Archived is switched on. It can no longer be used to schedule or conduct audits.

Archiving does not affect anything already done. Completed audits that used the template keep their reports and findings intact.

Archive rather than delete. The ⋮ menu also offers Permanently Delete, which removes the template for good and cannot be undone. Archiving keeps it, and its history, out of the way.

If this doesn’t work

  • Archive is blocked with a warning listing records — one or more audits using this template are In Progress. Those audits must be published, or the templates left active, before you can archive. The warning lists the records concerned.

  • No Archive option — you do not have Manage My Audit Templates.
