Running an audit over several days

How the module handles audits that are not finished in one sitting.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: Auditors and audit owners.

Real audits are rarely a single session. A full site audit can run for days or weeks.

The module handles this without any special mode:

  • Save a draft whenever you stop. The record stays In Progress for as long as it takes.

  • Reopen with View Audit as many times as you need.

  • Work sections in whatever order suits the visit.

  • Nothing expires and nothing is lost between sessions.

  • The audit was counted against your allowance once, when it was created — the number of sessions makes no difference.

Two things worth doing on a long audit:

Add subscribers so the audit owner and any interested managers can see progress without asking you.

Raise findings as you go, not at the end. The evidence is freshest at the moment you find something, and it means an audit interrupted for a week does not depend on your memory.
