Creating the action that will fix the finding.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: Needs Manage Corrective Actions.

  1. Open Audit Findings, open the finding's ⋮ menu and choose Assign Corrective Action. (During an audit, use the corrective action row on the finding card.)

  2. The Corrective Actions panel opens, listing any actions already on the finding. Select Add Action.

  3. Complete Action Details. The fields are listed in the table below.

  4. Use the other tabs — Actions, Attachments, Completion — if the work has sub-steps or supporting files.

  5. Select Save and Email to save and notify the owner, or Save and Next.

The action is created in the Actions module as an Audit Corrective Action, linked to both the audit and the finding, and appears in the finding's Corrective Actions table.

Write the action against the root cause, not the symptom. If the root cause is that nobody owns the training matrix, “assign an owner for the training matrix and add it to the QMS responsibilities register” is a corrective action. “Update the three missing records” is a fix, and the finding will recur.
