Who this is for: Anyone raising or resolving findings.
“I can’t save the finding — Objective Evidence is required.” The template requires evidence. This is set per template and can be overridden per clause. Record what you saw, reviewed or measured. If a photograph is also required, attach one. See 0.5 for what good evidence looks like.
“It won’t let me save without a clause.” Every finding raised inside a template-based audit must link to a clause. Choose the closest from the Clause / Requirement dropdown and explain the gap in Auditor’s Notes. The only exception is findings added from an uploaded external report.
“The finding won’t close.” Three possible reasons, in order of likelihood:
Not all of its corrective actions are Completed. A finding with three actions moves on only when all three are done. An overdue action still counts as not done.
Closure verification is required for that finding type. The finding is at For Closure and is waiting for a verifier. See 8.6.
You cannot close it: you do not have Verify & Close Findings, you own one of its corrective actions, or the audit names specific verifiers and you are not one of them.
“I need to delete a finding.” You can remove a finding while the audit is in progress, using Remove on the finding card. Once the audit is published, findings cannot be deleted — they are part of the record.
“Severity is greyed out.” You have selected Observation, Opportunity for Improvement or Positive Finding. Only nonconformities carry a severity.
“The root cause method I wanted isn’t there.” Your administrator controls which methods are enabled, and the list is read at the moment you open the analysis. Ask them to enable it.
“I can add a corrective action but not a root cause, or the other way round.” Manage Root Cause and Manage Corrective Actions are separate permissions. Ask your administrator which your role has.
