Requesting a technical review

What happens when the template requires a review before publication.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: The assigned auditor, on templates with Require Technical Review switched on.

When the template requires a technical review, you cannot publish directly. Instead:

  1. On the Audit Details step, choose the Technical Reviewer. The field starts blank, lists only people with the Technical Review permission for the audit’s location, and leaves out the audit’s own auditors.

  2. Complete the audit and clear the Audit Checklist.

  3. On Review & Publish, select Request Review.

The audit moves to For Review and the reviewer is notified by email.

You cannot review your own audit. The technical reviewer cannot be one of the audit’s auditors — that is the point of the step.

No reviewer, no request. If the Technical Reviewer field is empty, the Audit Checklist lists it as missing and Request Review is not available until you fill it in.

While the audit is For Review you cannot edit it. If the reviewer rejects it, it returns to In Progress with their reason, and you can make the changes and request review again.
