I deleted an audit but my allowance didn't go back up

Why deletion sometimes does not reclaim an audit.

Who this is for: All users.

Only a Scheduled audit that was never opened can be deleted, and only that returns to your allowance.

Once an audit has been started — status In Progress or beyond — it cannot be deleted at all. It can only be archived, and it stays counted.

This is deliberate. A started audit is a record of work that was done. Allowing it to be deleted would let audit evidence disappear, which would undermine the audit trail the module exists to provide.

Archiving is not deleting. Archiving tidies your working view; it does not free allowance.
