An audit is stuck at Blocked or For Review

Two statuses that pause an audit, and who can move it on.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: All users.

These look similar but have different causes, and different people resolve them.

Blocked — an issue has been raised that is stopping the audit: access denied, a safety concern, obstruction, missing information — or a declared conflict of interest.

  • Only the audit owner can resolve it.

  • The owner opens Issues in the audit’s Audit Overview panel and selects Resolve on the issue.

  • A resolution note is required. The row then shows who resolved it, when, and the note.

  • When every open issue is resolved, the audit returns to In Progress.

  • The auditor can keep working while the audit is Blocked; only publishing is paused.

  • Everything is recorded in the audit’s history log.

For Review — the audit has been sent for technical review because its template requires one.

  • Only the assigned technical reviewer can move it on.

  • They approve, which publishes the audit, or reject with a reason, which returns it to In Progress.

  • The auditor cannot edit it while it is For Review.
