Approving the Audit Plan

Record that a manager has signed off the plan for a period.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: Audit Managers and Audit Administrators. [CHECK: confirm permission — Approve plan is shown to Audit Administrators]

Approving the Audit Plan records that a manager has reviewed and agreed it. It gives you a dated record of the agreed plan.

Approving the plan

  1. Open View Audit Plan.

  2. Choose the horizon you want to approve.

  3. Select Approve plan.

  4. Read the Approve this plan? message and select Confirm.

A copy of the plan as it stands is kept with your name and the date. The plan then shows Approved and “Last approved by” with your name and the date.

When the plan needs re-approval

If a requirement behind the plan changes after approval, the plan shows Re-approval needed and marks the affected items Changed — review. Review them, then approve again in the same way.

Moving a date does not trigger re-approval.

Note: Approval is a record only. Nothing is blocked by it: anyone can schedule audits whether the plan is approved or not.

If this doesn't work

  • There's no Approve plan button — check your role. [CHECK: confirm permission]

  • The plan says Re-approval needed — a requirement behind the plan has changed. Look for the items marked Changed — review.
