The Near Miss report type consists of two tabs. These are explained below.
Category
Number at location
The Numbers at Location bar chart displays the locations with one or more Near Miss records.
Our Advice - You can click on each of the coloured bar charts to drill down into that collection of data. You can also click on the bar chart labels underneath to display a list of the records that make up the bar chart totals.
Incident Category
The Incident Category pie chart displays the counts for each type of incident category. These include:
Slip/Trip
Nuisance
Fall From Height
Wildlife/Habitat
Hit/Struck by Object
Fuel/Chemical Spill
Use of Tools
Use of Vehicles
Exposure to Substances
Assault
Needle Stick
Other
By clicking on a pie segment, you can drill down into that particular incident type. By clicking the location labels below the pie chart, you can move out out that piece of the chart to define it.
Our Advice - If you use the drill down functionality, you can use the Back button in the top right of the chart to return back to the previous level. See below:
Causes
The first chart on the Causes tab is the Immediate Causes pie chart. It displays the total number of records with either Unsafe Action and Unsafe Condition parameters.
Clicking a segment of the pie chart will produce a bar chart showing the counts of all Unsafe Action/Unsafe Condition types. You can then click the coloured bar charts to drill down into specific location count data. You can also click the label below the bar charts themselves to load up a list of records that make up the counts.
The second chart is a Root Cause bar chart. This displays the full range of root causes, and give the total record count for each.
You can click on the coloured bar charts to drill down and see location information for each route cause, and you can click the labels below the bar chart to view the records that make up the count figures.
