Please Note: To modify the details of a substance, you must have the correct system permissions.
You can modify the details of a substance to reflect the assessment containing it. This is done from within the Substance Information section of the assessment wizard (step 3).
First, go to the assessments area of the system by clicking the Assessments option in the main menu.
Next, find the assessment that contains the substance you wish to modify the details of and click the assessments Actions button, followed by the Edit Assessment option.
When in the assessment wizard, click on the Substance Information section (Step 3) along the top. You will now see a list of substances being used. Click the Expand Details option below the substance to see it's details.
Regulatory Statements
The first section under the substance details is Regulatory Statements. Here you can add and remove statements, as well as manually modify data to phrases/statements that contain ??please see SDS??
To make modifications, click the Green pen icon next to the Regulatory Statements heading.
Here you will see two tables. The top table has two tabs, Hazard Statements and Precautionary Statements. The bottom table displays the Selected Phrases being used in your assessment against this substance. To add a new phrase/statement, click the Green + (plus) icon to the right of it. This will add it to the Selected Phrases table underneath. To remove a phrase from the Selected Phrases table, click the Red bin icon to the left of it.
If a phrase has the term ??please see SDS?? in it, you can modify this to something more specific. To change an ??please see SDS?? entry, simply click the white box containing it, and then type in the phrase you want instead.
Any additions/modifications to these substance details must be saved by clicking the Save & Close.
Please Note: The Application Details, Spillage, Storage & Waste and Workplace Exposure Limits (WELS) sections have been discussed in the Assessment Wizard - Substance Information article.
You will be able to view and modify the data of additional substances in the same way as above.
Our Advice: Each substance added to your assessment has its own details section below it when you click it’s Expand Details option. Please remember to treat each substance separately, taking care not to amend details under the wrong substance.
