I can't see Audits in the menu

What to do when the Audit Module does not appear in your navigation.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: Any user.

If you have no audit role assigned, the Audit Module is hidden from your side navigation entirely. This is by far the most common reason.

Work through these in order:

  1. Check with your administrator that you have an audit role. COSHH and Incident roles do not grant audit access; audit access is a separate role.

  2. Ask which role you have. An Audit Viewer will see the module but will not be able to schedule or conduct anything.

  3. Check the module is active for your company. If your trial has ended, existing records remain visible but new audits cannot be started.

  4. Sign out and back in after a role has been assigned.

Administrators: audit roles are assigned to users under Settings → Users & Locations. The roles themselves — what each one can do, and how to add a custom one — live in Roles & Permissions → Audit Roles. See 10.10.
