Who this is for: Audit Administrators.
Work through in this order — the first two account for most cases.
1. Does the user have an audit role at all? No audit role means the module is hidden from their navigation entirely. Check the user in Settings → Users & Locations; the roles themselves are listed under Roles & Permissions → Audit Roles.
2. Does their role include the permission? Audit Viewer is read-only. Auditor cannot build templates or archive audits. Open the role with View Role and check — see 10.10.
3. Do they have access to the location? Templates and records exist only in the locations they are saved to, and users see only their accessible locations. The exception is the audit owner and assigned auditors, who always reach their own audits.
4. Is the template published and not archived? A draft cannot be used. Switch on Show Archived to check whether it has been archived.
5. Are they the assigned auditor? Only the assigned auditor can conduct or publish an audit. Being an Audit Manager does not override this.
6. Is the module active? After a trial ends, existing records remain read-only and new audits cannot be started.
7. Have they signed out and back in? Role changes are picked up on a new session.
8. Is the audit in a state that blocks the action? Blocked audits cannot be published until the owner resolves the issue. For Review audits are with the reviewer. Completed audits are immutable.
