This is correct behaviour, not a fault.
Every audit is frozen at the template version it used. A completed audit is a point-in-time record of what was assessed and what was found — if a template change could reach back into it, the record would no longer show what the auditor actually assessed, and it would be worthless as evidence.
Audit state | Effect of a template change |
Completed | None. Frozen at its version |
In Progress | None. The auditor continues on the version they started |
Scheduled | Picks up the latest published version. Nothing warns anyone |
Future audits | Use the latest published version |
The published report shows which template version was used, so you can always tell.
If you need the change reflected, the audit must be run again against the new version. There is no way to migrate a completed audit.
