Please Note: The System Settings area can only be accessed by users with Super User access or permission from a Custom Role.

When a substance is added to your assessment or inventory, it is possible to add an internal code to it to make it easier for you or your colleagues to find again at a later date. In the Internal Reference Options, we can create internal code prefixes that can be used when users add an internal code reference to a substance.

To get to the Internal Reference Options area, start by clicking the Settings option in the main menu on the left hand side of the screen.

Next, click the Substance Settings option, and click the Internal Reference Options tab:

To create a new prefix, click the Add New Prefix button.

On the Prefix Details screen, add in the Prefix you wish to use. This could be something like the letters SUB, or the word CHEM.

Next, add a Padding value if applicable. The padding value will add a set of leading zeros to system generated internal codes. For example, if we set this value to 4, the next generated internal code for SUB will have 4 digits after it, and will look something like SUB-0001, SUB-0082 or SUB-0147.

Once you have set the details of the prefix, click the Save button.
