Auditor Workload and planning capacity

Check whether you have enough competent auditors to deliver the plan.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: Audit Administrators, and anyone who can open Audit Settings.

Auditor Workload compares the audits each auditor is booked on with how many they can take on. It also shows how many competent auditors you have for each standard you plan to audit.

Reading the workload

  1. Go to Settings > System Settings > Audit Settings > Auditor Register.

  2. Scroll down to Auditor Workload, below the register.

  3. Choose a Period: Next month, Next 3 months (the default), Next 6 months, Next 12 months or Last 3 months.

Each auditor is listed with their Upcoming, Overdue, In progress and Completed audits, their Load / capacity for the period (for example 6 / 12), and a Workload flag: Over, Balanced or Idle. Counts of each flag show above the table.

Planned audits by standard

Below the auditors, Planned audits by standard lists each standard with the number of audits Planned, the number of Competent auditors and the total Capacity. Compare these to spot a shortfall.

Note: For a standard under the competence check, an auditor counts as competent only if they will still be competent at the end of the period. A certificate that expires mid-period doesn't count. Standards not under the check show “no competence rule”.

Only one auditor is chosen when scheduling, but more can be added on the audit's Audit Details step. An audit with more than one auditor counts towards each of them. [CHECK: confirm multi-auditor audits count for each auditor]

Setting capacity

  1. Go to Settings > System Settings > Audit Settings > Notifications.

  2. Under Audit Planning, set Auditor capacity in audits per auditor per month.

  3. Select Save.

If this doesn't work

  • An auditor you expect isn't counted as competent — check their certificate doesn't expire before the end of the period.

  • You can't find Auditor Workload — it is on the Auditor Register tab in Audit Settings, below the register. You need access to Audit Settings.
