Please Note: This area can only be accessed by users with the correct system permissions.

The Incident Restrictions tab is one of three tabs located in the Incident Settings area. This area allows you to nominate which types of incident record will be available to your team members. It also allows you to specify if users are able to edit completed records and create RIDDOR incidents.

Selecting which forms are available

You can choose which record types will be available to you and your team members by selecting/unselecting them. To do this, simply click the check box next to the type you wish to select/unselect:

Once saved, only selected record types will be available in the Create New -> Incident list:

There are also three additional settings in the Incident Restrictions area that we can set:

These are outlined below:

  • Restrict Users from editing completed records - If this setting is on, only users with the permission to edit a completed record may do so

  • Restrict Users from creating RIDDOR incidents - If this setting is switched on, only users with the permission to create RIDDOR records may do so

  • Restrict Users from creating fatality incidents - If this setting is switched on, only users with the permission to create fatality records may do so

When all options have been set, click the Save button to update your settings.

Please Note: The three additional permissions above work directly with the permissions set in each role in the Roles & Permissions area. See screenshot below of the QSHE Administrator role details:

As standard, all users can initially record a RIDDOR or a Fatality, and any user with the Create/Edit Incident permission can Edit Completed Records. These permissions will only take effect if the restriction in the incident settings area is switched On.

For example, In the screenshot above, the Report Fatalities is switched OFF. Even though this permission is off, users assigned with the QSHE Administrator role will still be able to report fatalities if needed. However, if the Restrict Users from creating fatality incidents setting is switched ON in the incident settings area, users with the Report Fatalities switched OFF will NOT be able to report fatalities.
