If you're unable to find assessments that you have previously created or viewed and they have not been archived, you may be experiencing caching issues.
Please Note: We recommended using Google Chrome to access the Sevron platform. These instructions will detail the process using Chrome, however, the process is similar for all other web browsers.
Web browsers typically save some of the information from websites you visit to speed up any subsequent visits. They do this to ensure you have a quick, issue-free browsing experience every time you go back.
This often means some of the information you see on a website is out-of-date. Usually, this doesn't matter to you because most of the information that is cached by your web browser is irrelevant to the information you're searching for.
Unfortunately, when using online applications, this can create issues where the information you are inputting or receiving appears to fail to update when you take actions inside the application.
For example: You are searching for a specific assessment, but it is not showing when you search for it.
You know they should be showing, you created them recently and you check the information contained in them frequently. They were never archived and they're not in a different location.
The problem in this example is very likely to be a caching issue. You can solve caching issues using the following steps:
1. To begin with please press CTRL-F5 on your keyboard at the same time. This will force your web browser to request new information from the web page you are visiting, which should replace any cached information.
In the case of an online application, this serves to force it to sync with the application servers, ensuring the information you're inputting or receiving is able to save and show correctly.
2. If this does not work, you may need to manually clear your cookies and cache through your browser's settings menu.
Click your browsers 'Menu' button and then click 'Settings.
Please Note: If you're using Google Chrome, the 'Menu' button is the three dots in the top right corner of your browser window. If you're using another browser, the menu button may be a hamburger icon.
3. Next, scroll down until you find the 'Advanced' settings section and click to open it.
4. Under the Privacy section, find and click the option to 'Clear Browsing Data.'
5. Now you should see a pop-up menu with various options regarding clearing browsing history, cookies, and cached images and files.
Please check only 'Cookies and other site data,' and 'Cached images and files.'
Uncheck all other options and then click 'Clear Data.'
6. Once the cached data has cleared, please return to the Assessments section of your COSHH365 management system and try to find your assessments again.
