The Task Hazards & Controls section (step 4 of the assessment wizard) is the area in which we add and modify all hazards identified when carrying out the task being assessed.
Each hazard identified can be represented in your assessment by a yellow hazard icon. Here are a few examples:
To add a new hazard to your assessment, click the Add Hazards button.
You can navigate through the icons sets via the icon category tabs. You can also use the search option at the top for fast icon finding. When you see a hazard icon you want to use, click it to select it. To add more than one hazard icon, simply continue selecting additional hazard icons. Once you have finished selecting your hazard icons, click the Save button to add the selected hazard(s) to your assessment.
To reorder the hazards, simply hover over a hazard's 'box' and drag it to the proper place:
To remove a hazard icon, click the red cross in the top left corner of it.
Our Advice: If you have left the option to Auto Populate Task Hazards & Controls switched on in the Regulation Choice phase of choosing a substance, you may find that this section has already been pre-populated with hazard icons for you.
Now click the Expand Details option below the first hazard in your assessment to display the hazard’s information.
You can change the hazard description itself by editing the text in the box directly below the hazard icon to describe the hazard more specifically to your requirements.
The next step is to Add Controls to each of the hazards in your assessment.
