The audit history log

The record of everything that happened to an audit.

Written by Caim Hermoso

Who this is for: Anyone with access to the audit record.

Every audit carries its own history recording who did what and when — creation, scheduling, edits (including the Objectives, Boundaries and Exclusions fields and Audit Plan notes), plan links added, replaced or removed, status changes, issues raised and resolved, review requests and outcomes, previous findings loaded and reviewed, report sign-off requested, signed, reminded and cancelled, and publication

Note: changes to the programme Audit Plan’s dates (View Audit Plan) aren't in an audit's history. Moves and resets are kept in the plan's own history — see Moving a planned audit date [LINK].

Each entry shows the user, a full sentence describing the change, and a timestamp — so the log reads as a narrative rather than a list of codes.

You can reach it in two places:

The History Overview panel on the right of the audit wizard. It shows the most recent entries, with View History Details for the full log

The history log is what makes the audit trail defensible. When a certification body asks who changed something and when, this is the answer.
