There are two ways to add a substance to a location’s substance inventory.
The first way is by adding a substance to an assessment. As discussed in the articles Creating A New Assessment and Assessment Wizard - Substance Information, you can add one or more substances directly into your assessment. When a substance is added to the assessment, the substance is automatically added to the assessment location’s substance inventory.
The second way is to add the substance directly to a location's substance inventory instead. To do this, simply click the Add Substances button in the My Substance Inventory area. This will display the same substance search window that is discussed in the Searching For A Substance lesson.
You can also make a request for an SDS from this area of the system. This process is the same as the one described in the Uploading An SDS/Making An SDS Request article.
Once you have found the substance and chosen the substance’s regulation, the substance will be added directly to your substance inventory.
